Job Overview

The Indian Dance teacher is responsible for providing high-quality dance instruction to students, promoting their artistic growth, creativity and self-expression. They will design engaging lesson plans, assess student progress and maintain a safe and inspiring learning environment. Dance teacher’s role is to inspire students and foster their artistic talents. The Dance teacher will also play a key role in organizing Dance events, integrating dance with other disciplines and contributing to a vibrant school culture.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Instruction and Curriculum Development
    • The role of a Dance Teacher is to teach dance to the students based on the academic curriculum
  2. Student Engagement and Development
    • Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills and confidence.
    • Identify and nurture individual talents and abilities.
    • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate special needs and learning challenges.
  3. Programme and School Participation
    • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate dance into interdisciplinary lessons.
    • Participate in professional development and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
  4. Administrative and Professional Duties
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance and assessments.
  5. Expertise
    • Demonstrate expertise in various dance techniques and media.
    • Strong classroom management and organizational abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to teach classical dance forms of theory and practical as per CBSE syllabus.
    • Knowledge of different forms of dance.
    • Ability to conduct a large dance troupe for inter-school competitions and other school events
