Key Responsibilities
- Student Support and Counseling
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling to address emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.
- Support students in developing coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills.
- Work with students to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
- Address behavioral issues such as bullying, peer pressure, and classroom disruptions through targeted interventions.
- Program Development and Implementation
- Design and deliver age-appropriate workshops and seminars on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence.
- Develop school-wide programs to promote positive mental health and well-being.
- Collaboration with teachers and parents
- Collaborate with teachers to understand and address student behavioral issues in the classroom.
- Work closely with parents to provide guidance on supporting their child’s emotional and behavioral needs.
- Prevention and Awareness
- Create awareness campaigns about mental health, self-care, and the importance of seeking help.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify at-risk students and intervene early.
- Record Keeping and Reporting
- Maintain confidential records of student interactions and progress
- Provide reports and updates to the school administration on student welfare and program effectiveness
- Crisis Management
- Provide immediate support and counseling during crises, such as student emergencies or traumatic incidents
- Assist in creating and implementing the school's crisis intervention policies
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Certifications: Certification in child and adolescent counseling or behavioral therapy is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of experience working with school-age children, preferably in a school setting.
