Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  1. Planning and Preparation
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive lesson plans/Concept Map aligned with the curriculum and educational standards.
    • To teach subjects like History, Civics, Geography and Economics use a variety of instructional strategies.
    • Adapt lessons and teaching materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.
    • Based on the previous knowledge of the child, implement a well-designed lesson plan/Concept Map to achieve the objectives.
  2. Classroom Management
    • Create and maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment.
    • Promote respectful behavior, collaboration, and active participation in discussions and group activities.
    • Address and manage classroom behavior, and disciplinary issues as per school policies.
    • Try to avoid the comparison of students in classroom.
  3. Assessment and Evaluation
    • Establish and maintain clear classroom rules and routines to promote positive behavior and academic engagement.
    • Manage student behavior effectively, promoting respect, cooperation, and responsibility in the classroom.
    • Encourage students to develop inquiry skills, problem-solving abilities, and a growth mindset.
  4. Assessment and Evaluation
    • Design and administer a variety of assessments (quizzes, tests, projects, presentations) to evaluate student understanding.
    • Preparation of Question Bank and Work sheet asper Curriculum
    • Provide constructive feedback on assignments, tests, and projects.
    • Identify the areas where students may need additional support.
    • Maintain accurate records of student performance and grades.
    • Keep a proper anecdotal record of all the individual students
  5. Professional Development
    • Stay current with developments in social science education and teaching methods.
    • Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and seminars to improve teaching skills.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
    • Discuss all the academic concerns with your immediate superiors- HoD/ AVP
    • Familiar with the recent changes in the New Educational Policy and NCF
  6. Communication and Collaboration
    • Maintain regular communication with students, parents, regarding student progress.
    • Participate in school meetings, staff development activities, and other professional duties as required.
    • Work closely with other faculty members to plan interdisciplinary lessons and projects.
    • Keep good relation with the parents. Avoid all kinds of criticism of a student to the parent. Discuss everything positively to the parents about their wards
  7. Curriculum Development and Improvement
    • Contribute to the development, review, and enhancement of the school’s social science curriculum.
    • Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enrich the learning experience.
  8. Extra-curricular Involvement
    • Participate in school-wide activities, events, that support social science learning (e.g., debate. clubs, and community outreach programs).
    • Organize field trips to the historically important places and the Museums to get firsthand information to enhance students' understanding of the social science concept
  9. Skills and Abilities
    • Strong understanding of social science subjects and related this the current events.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills connecting with the subject.
    • Proficiency with educational technology and classroom management
    • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
