This couldn’t happen because if they want
to stop responding to phages, they would
have to give up their resistance for
antibiotics. Studies show that injecting
bacteriophage in a sick person’s body can
kill the bacteria and make the person
healthy again. Phage therapy began in
1919 and was tested successfully. A man had been admitted in the hospital with
Pseudomonas Aeruginosa in his chest. As he was about to die millions of phages
were injected into his chest cavity. After a week, the man was hale and healthy again.
Currently only few countries use phage treatment such as Russia, Poland etc. and it
needs to be approved by many other countries. Hence, the injecting of bacteriophage
into our bodies could save countless lives.
