Nanotechnology is the branch of science that deals with the

control of matter on atomic, molecular scale. The machines used
are around 100 nanometre is breadth. Nanotechnology

deals with making products that use parts that are miniature

Nanotechnology brings together scientists and engineers deriving from various
aspects such as applied physics, materials science, interface and colloid science,
device physics, chemistry, supramolecular chemistry , self-replicating machines and

robotics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biology, biological
             engineering, and electrical engineering.

Individuals are doing numerous different types of research in the field of
nanotechnology. Most current work looks at
making nanoparticles, that is, particles with
nanometre size, that have special properties,
such as the way they scatter light, absorb X-
rays, transport electrical currents or heat, etc.
Analyzing the more "science fiction" end of the

bigger machines or new ideas for structures
that make themselves. New devices are
possible with Nano size structures. It is even
possible to work with single atoms. Debates
are taking place concerning the pros and cons of nanotechnology.
